You can now watch this year’s much awaited action comedy film ‘The Fall Guy’ on Amazon Prime Video on rent. The David Leitch film had its share of ups and downs given that despite receiving positive reviews ‘The Fall Guy’ could not perform commercially at the box office.
In ‘The Fall Guy’, after leaving the business one year earlier, battle-scarred stuntman Colt Seavers (Gosling) springs back into action when the star of a big studio movie suddenly disappears. As the mystery surrounding the missing actor deepens, Colt soon finds himself ensnared in a sinister plot that pushes him to the edge of a fall more dangerous than any stunt.
Directed by David Leitch and written by Drew Pearce, ‘The Fall Guy’ star Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hannah Waddingham, Teresa Palmer, Stephanie Hsu, and Winston Duke among others.
‘The Fall Guy’ is loosely based on the 1980s TV series of the same name that has been in talks for film adaptation for long until Gosling, Leitch and Pearce began working on the project in 2020. The film was confirmed in 2022 and released in 2024.
‘The Fall Guy’ has a rating of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes with generally positive reviews from the critics who say that it is that rare mainstream film with big stars which has something for everyone with its varied range of comedy, action, and romance.
