Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is one of the few superhero characters that Disney chose to pick up after it acquired 20th Century Fox. Both the actor and Marvel Studios have confirmed that they are working on Deadpool 3. Reynolds recently appeared in an interview with Collider where he teased some new updates regarding the upcoming third movie in the Deadpool series.
Reynolds took part in Collider’s interview to promote his forthcoming release, The Adam Project. When he was asked about Deadpool 3, he said, “We pretty much talk about everything, but I’ll say this about that particular subject is I’ll have a batch of updates on that sooner rather than later, I hope. So I’ll be able to get into stuff about Deadpool a little bit more clearly and definitively down the road.”
Disney CEO Bob Iger promised the fans that they would keep this movie series Rated-R after acquiring the 20th Century Fox. Also, various reports have affirmed that the executives at Marvel Studios have watched The Once Upon a Deadpool version of the original sophomore instalment. And they will make some changes to the third film according to the PG-13 rating of MCU. It looks like the fans will get a unique blend of Rated-R and PG-13 elements in the upcoming Deadpool entry.
There is not a single movie in the MCU that has bestowed gore or uncontrollable violence to the viewers. It will be interesting to see how Disney plays this Deadpool situation. A fair portion of fans has expressed their concern on social media regarding Disney’s possible treatment of Wade Wilson in future. The duo of Disney and Marvel Studios is prominent for playing safe with the PG-13 rating. And this procedure has worked very fine for them so far. But we can’t expect a character like Deadpool to get ‘nerfed’ during his stay at Disney.
We know that Disney has already cancelled many planned films including Fox’s version of Deadpool 3 and X-Force. Additionally, the helmer of the second instalment, David Leitch, has been removed by Disney. Furthermore, the screenwriting pair of Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are not a part of the third movie anymore. It clearly indicates that the studio is looking to take a new take on the superhero character. Apart from Ryan Reynolds, no addition to the cast has been confirmed yet by Marvel. Stay tuned for more updates.
