MX Player has unveiled the trailer for its next original series ‘Sabka Sai’ launched as the second series after ‘Cartel’ as part of its MX Gold service. Directed by Ajit Bhairavkar, all episodes of ‘Sabka Sai’ will release on MX Player on 26th August, 2021.
‘Sabka Sai’ will tell the story of Sai Baba, a saint worshipped all over India and known for his great ideals and miracles. This MX Original series is not just about his miracles but also features the strong opposition form people of science and medicine because of those very miracles.
The trailer shows the era of British Raj when revolutionaries like Bal Gangadhar Tilak were fighting for the nation’s freedom. Sai believes and keeps faith in one God who is above all and that’s what he preaches to everyone that comes to him. He is always there for those who have no one.
Sai’s influence is well known to the Britishers as well who feel that it could be dangerous for their government too. But that’s not it, Sai is also not liked by those who instigate violence in the name of religion as he stands against it and explains how every religion teaches one to become a better person and not hatred.
‘Sabka Sai’ will give a glimpse into the life of the great Sufi saint and includes anecdotes about everything, from his perspective on religion uniting people to the hatred he received from those who believed in science over his miracles, as well as his support for India’s revolutionaries.
‘Sabka Sai’ stars Raj Arjun, Mohammed Samad, Aakash Sinha, Gulki Joshi, Rohit Phalke, Manoj Kolhatkar, Asheesh Kapur, Devika Daftardar, Rajendra Shisatkar, Chirag Vohra, Gyanendra Tripathi, Vartika Tiwari, Gauri Konge, Shivraj Walvekar, Sanjay Bhatia and Atul Kaswa among others.
While ‘Cartel’ was MX Player’s first series to be announced under its SVOD service MX Gold, ‘Sabka Sai’ will be the first to be an MX Original that will premiere exclusively on MX Player. ‘Cartel’ will also release simultaneously on ALT Balaji on 20th August, 2021.
MX Gold, currently available only for Android, offers a very affordable subscription rate with plans starting at less than ₹1/day. While there are many market players working with the SVOD model like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar and more, it will be interesting to see how this mix of SVOD and AVOD turns out for Times Internet owned streaming platform MX Player, that has worked on the AVOD model for quite a time now.
