The final episode of “The Big Bang Theory” still makes some of us cry, and now with a heavy heart we bid farewell to Young Sheldon.
A spin off of “The Big Bang Theory” finally came to an end, and audiences were just not ready to let that go.
But with the very last episode in the bag Young Sheldon reached 9 million views, “Funeral,” aired at 8 p.m. and averaged 8.8 million viewers before “Memoir” aired directly afterwards and closed the series with 8.95 million viewers.
Making it the most watched series of the night.
The creators, Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, decided to end it, when it’s still good. It’s better to end something when it’s still desirable, otherwise it only becomes repetitive.
This was also a 28% improvement upon the Season 7 viewership average to date.
The spinoff, which was the most watched new comedy when it debuted during the 2017-2018 season and became the biggest broadcast comedy overall during the 2019-2020 season.
