Sai Dharam Tej‘s theatrical outing Republic is all set for its OTT release. The Deva Katta directorial, which is billed to be an intense social drama is scheduled to premiere on ZEE5 on the 26th of November. An official announcement on the same will be made by the makers of the Sai Dharam Tej starrer and ZEE5 shortly.
For those who don’t already know, ZEE5 had bagged the theatrical and non theatrical rights of Republic much in advance of its release. The media giant was initially inclined towards releasing the film directly on OTT but they then decided against it and went for theatrical release, which in the end, proved to be a poor decision. Republic couldn’t even post decent numbers at the box office and ended up as a complete dud.
Republic is now gearing up for its OTT release and it is said to land on ZEE5 on the 26th of this month. The film failed to put on a good show at the ticket counters and we need to wait and see if it can garner good viewership as it lands on OTT.
Republic is an intense social drama and it is directed by Deva Katta. Sai Dharam Tej plays a sincere IAS officer in the film. It touches several sensitive topics pertaining to contemporary society. The film has Ramyakrishna and Aishwarya Rajesh in other pivotal roles.
