Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is celebrating his 53rd birthday today. To mark the occasion, the producers of his upcoming much-awaited Telugu film ‘Devara’ unveiled the first look of Saif Ali Khan from the film. Saif Ali Khan is named ‘Bhaira’ in Devara, and he plays the primary antagonist in the film. The actor will face off against lead N. T. Rama Rao Jr, aka Jr NTR, in Devara. The film hits theatres worldwide on 5th April, 2024.
The first look of Saif Ali Khan as Bhaira in Devara is quite disappointing, to be honest. The poster with Saif Ali Khan’s first look as Bhaira shows the actor’s face in relief. It is set against a dark backdrop, with waves lashing in the foreground, and boats trying to get the better of the rough seas and each other too.
Saif Ali Khan’s long-haired style and rugged appearance do nothing to add any kind of menacing or compelling quality to the actor. Even though he’s the main villain in the film, Saif Ali Khan hardly looks the part – at least in the poster. He looks like a man dejected with life, staring into the distance, contemplating his future — not villainous at all, nope!
Let’s hope Saif Ali Khan does justice to the part, and gives tough competition to Jr NTR in the acting and screen presence department. Judging from his first look poster, it’s a tall order, for sure.
Devara is a Telugu action drama film, set in the backdrop of the coast and the high seas. The film features N. T. Rama Rao Jr in the lead, along with Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Srikanth, Prakash Raj, Mandava Sai Kumar, Tarak Ponnappa, among others, in crucial roles. Devara marks the Telugu debut for Janhvi Kapoor. The film will be a pan India release, premiering in Telugu, along with Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi versions.
Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for Devara. It is produced by NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts directed by Koratala Siva and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. R Rathnavelu is the cinematographer, Subu Cyril is the art director and Sreekar Prasad is the editor for Devara.
