‘Sairat’ Director’s Award Winning Film Streaming On Zee5!

Zee5 is premiering award winning Marathi film ‘Pavasacha Nibhandth’ by director Nagraj Manjule of ‘Sairat’ fame.

Along with Manjule’s short film, two others; Gargee Kulkarni’s ‘Bibtya – The Leopard’ and Mithunchandra Chaudhari’s ‘Paywat’ will also be presented.

The former is about a leopard and a girl who goes missing in the village and the latter is the story of a daughter of labourers, Maydi.

Manjule said in a statement, “On the set of ”Fandry”, we had to stop our shoot due to rainfall. This interruption led me to my childhood memory about rains which sowed a seed of ”Pavasacha Nimbadh”. It’s great that a video streaming platform with a global reach is giving a share of voice to short films by recognizing them and the art.”

The director who previously directed ‘Sairat’ has delivered yet another soulful story about rain from the context of a poor family. It follows a schoolboy who has to write an essay on rain while his family deals with the incessant rain that presents a set of unique challenges for them all.

The film stars Meghraj Shinde, Gargi Kulkarni and Sheshraj Manjule among others. It has won the best short film award at Los Angeles Indian Film Festival and The Silver Lotus Award at the National Film Awards.

‘Pavasacha Nibhandh’ is streaming on Zee5 from July 15th, 2020.
