Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 is streaming on JioCinema from June 17 i.e. today. The show apart from being entertaining is also highly controversial.
The first season of Big Boss OTT was hosted by Karan Johar but makers managed to get Salman Khan in this edition. Given the free streaming of the show on JioCinema and that too with Salman Khan, the views are meant to be astounding.
During a media appearance for the show, Salman Khan addressed a question regarding the restrictions in the new season. He assured the audience, stating, “I will not allow anything on OTT that goes against our culture. I believe guidelines have been implemented for OTT platforms, leading to an improvement in content.” This statement indicates the consistent pressure on OTT and producers to tame the content on OTT. Up until recently, OTT was convinced that they can show whatever they want as digital content does not go under censorship but too much attention on such topics are making the issue bigger.
Bigg Boss OTT is a spin-off of the original Bigg Boss series, specifically created for online release. Unlike its televised counterpart, the show will be available for streaming on JioCinema. The digital edition offers a unique format where the show runs nonstop for 24 hours a day, providing viewers with round-the-clock access to the housemates’ activities. Additionally, there will be a daily one-hour episode that captures the highlights of the day.
