On an average, an Indian OTT user spends around INR 350 every month on OTT platforms. But this can be eliminated. Samsung has come up with 100% free OTT. Yes, you read it right!
This service first came into existence in 2016 and came pre installed in Samsung Smart TVs. It was earlier available in 12 countries including Canada, Spain, Germany, USA, France, Italy, UK, Australia, Korea, Austria, Switzerland, and Brazil. Now, Samsung has decided to extend this service to India and Mexico. “We have seen TVs become the centre of entertainment. From being a source of news to a streaming on-demand partner. With our latest expansion into new markets and content line-up, we hope that TV Plus continues to be a premium at-home destination for Samsung Smart TV users all over the world,” said the senior Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
Unlike other OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5, ALTBalaji, and others, Samsung will not charge a single penny. No credit or debit cards details will be required. One will just need internet connection. TV Plus app is accessible on all Samsung Smart TVs as well as on Galaxy S10, S20, Note10, and Note20 devices. The exact date of its release has not been declared yet but it will surely come in 2021.
