The first look of Sanjay Dutt from the upcoming Kannada movie ‘KD- The Devil’ is out now. And far from intriguing fans, the poster disappoints them as once again Sanjay Dutt has been typecast in a caricaturish role.
Sanjay Dutt has great screen presence and he has pulled off characters that very few actors could have done. He has played the awesome Kancha in ‘Agneepath’ and no comments will be enough to praise Munna Bhai. But seeing him stoop to these roles pains movie lovers.
Dutt’s films like ‘Bhuj’, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ or ‘Shamshera’ did not work out well at the box office but his Leo was indeed a blast and his role was awe-inspiring. While the various South Indian industries (as they are taking more and more actors from Bollywood) need to give the roles they deserve, it is completely disheartening to see them typecast in such roles. The first look from ‘KD- The Devil’ features Sanjay Dutt in leopard skin like shirt, denim jackets and glasses. He has a violently red belt on the shoulders and a police cap on the top of his head and of course a tilak. He might be playing a bad cop again this time after Shamshera and let us see if the movie gets any better than the poster.
