Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his larger-than-life films that leave the audiences awestruck. His movies have a sort of grandeur that is impossible to replicate by any other director currently active in Indian cinema. About 7 years ago, he came up with a film that would become a topic of national sensation. It was Padmaavat. The film saw a huge uproar from Karni Sena and several religious organisations.
The reason?
They somehow assumed that the film had undignified scenes involving Padmaavati and all this happened even before watching the film. Anyway, after a lot of delays and controversies, the film was released. It became a mammoth success and earned much more than 300 crores which was pretty crazy.
It remained one of the magnum opus by Bhansali but just a few days back Kangana Ranaut made a statement claiming that Deepika Padukone is just getting ready in the entire film and she has nothing important to contribute. This statement is viral and it makes a lot of sense too.
But, there is no doubt that watching Padmaavat on the big screens is like living in that world of magnanimity. The movie is extremely grand and the music, characters and performances stay with you for a long long time.
Perceptions about films change over time and that is how it should be like. But those who want to live the experience of watching Padmaavat on the big screens must not miss it.
Watch it in the theatres on January 24.
