It is all but confirmed that Pawan Kalyan and Rana‘s Bheemla Nayak is out of the Sankranthi race. The film will not be released on 12th January, as announced initially. The makers of the Pawan Kalyan and Rana starrer have agreed to postpone the film’s release upon repeated persuasions from the makers of RRR. Noted Telugu producers, Dil Raju and DVV Danayya have called for a press meet today and Bheemla Nayak’s postponement will be officially announced during the same.
With Bheemla Nayak out of the Sankranthi race, RRR‘s box office prospects are greatly boosted. The film can enjoy a free run at the box offices across the twin Telugu states for a full week starting from 7th January till 14th January when Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam hits the marquee. What was a three-way clash has now diluted into a doubleheader with RRR and Radhe Shyam set to battle it out at the box office.
The common opinion is that Bheemla Nayak was never really in contention for the Sankranthi release slot as locking horns with RRR is not a wise move, given the unprecedented hype surrounding the film. The makers of Bheemla Nayak kept affirming that the film will release on 12th January but that isn’t the case anymore.
It is heard that the makers of Bheemla Nayak are planning to release the film in theatres during the Maha Sivarathri season. An official announcement on the same is expected to be made in due course. In all likelihood, the film will be releasing in the last week of February.
As for RRR and Radhe Shyam, these two pan-India biggies look set to have a free run at the ticket counters.
