Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures’ million-dollar collaboration for animated hit ‘Sausage Party’ boasted a star-studded ensemble cast. The plot revolves around Frank, a sausage, Brenda, a hot dog bun, and other food items that live a happy, quaint life in a supermarket. However, their existence turns sour after they discover the truth that they are going to be eaten.
To escape, they devise a genius plan to escape. And now, much to the joy of fans worldwide, their escape plan is being renewed for a second installment. Prime Video’s ‘Sausage Party’ sequel series, ‘Foodtopia’, has officially announced a premiere date: June 11. Even more so, the series will release exclusively on the streaming platform.
Actors Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, and Edward Norton will all be returning to reprise their original roles for the sequel series.
While no trailer to the upcoming sequel is out yet, an unsurprisingly crude first poster was released for 2016’s R-rated hit. Fans were quick to express their elation with the announcement over various social media platforms. However, they were quick to notice how some of the original cast members hadn’t confirmed their presence in the upcoming series.
Will Salma Hayek and Paul Rudd also reprise their roles? Stay tuned to find out!
