Looks like we will finally get an important update on SonyLIV’s highly anticipated show, ‘Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi’. The platform has just teased a Scam 2003 update, with a cryptic post on Twitter, which says ‘stay tuned’. As per our understanding, SonyLIV will finally share the first looks of the cast of the show. SonyLIV has smartly kept the Scam 2003 cast under wraps until now. But looks like the cat will finally be out of the bag soon!

SonyLIV’s ‘Scam 1992’ was a smashing hit for the platform. The blockbuster show set the newly revamped SonyLIV on the path of establishing itself firmly in the Indian OTT space. Scam 1992’s success also rubbed off on its director Hansal Mehta, and star Pratik Gandhi. Both became hot property in the world of digital entertainment.
Scam 1992’s universal acclaim set the ball rolling at SonyLIV for another show on another high profile scam. The new show was titled ‘Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi’, and it was again to be directed by Hansal Mehta. But after that one announcement, there has hardly been any update on Scam 2003 from SonyLIV or director Hansal Mehta. The only update shared by the stakeholders is that the show went on the floors on April 27, 2022.
The most important update viewers have been desperately waiting for is about the cast of Scam 2003. And it’s what we’re soon about to find out, looks like! SonyLIV might drop the first looks of the Scam 2003 cast, along with a release date for the show. As per our sources, Scam 2003 is slated to premiere on SonyLIV around October 2022, almost the same time when Scam 1992 had released on SonyLIV.
For the unversed, ‘Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi’ will tell the story of the infamous stamp paper scam of 2003, reportedly a ₹100 billion scam. Abdul Karim Telgi was the mastermind of the scam. SonyLIV’s show Scam 2003 is adapted from the Hindi book “Reporter Ki Diary”, authored by journalist Sanjay Singh. Singh and Marathi writer Kiran Yadnyopavit are the scriptwriters for Scam 2003.
