Scarlett Johansson has confirmed her casting in Jurassic World 4. In her recent announcement, she also teased an outstanding story from writer David Koepp who wrote the original Jurassic Park (1993).
As per the rumours, the new Jurassic World movie may have a new cast and an entirely new story. Though, its story is expected to take place after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022). The new movie’s plot is under wraps right now.
Johansson confirmed her addition to Jurassic World 4 in a recent interview with ComicBook. She teased her excitement about joining the project and praised Koepp for his “incredible” script. This is what she said:
“I cannot express how excited I am. The script is so incredible. David Koepp wrote it. He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He’s so passionate about it, which is so awesome.”
Johansson’s inclusion in the new Jurassic World film is indeed exciting news for the franchise’s fanbase. The record-shattering success of the 2015 entry, Jurassic World, was enough for Universal to greenlight its sequels: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Dominion (2022). While the first movie from the rebooted trilogy performed well with both critics and audiences, the sequels, Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, turned out to be critical failures (despite being blockbusters), earning 46% and 29% scores on Rotten Tomatoes, respectively.
Dominion was a disappointing conclusion to the once promising Jurassic World trilogy. Adding Scarlett Johansson to the new movie proves that Universal wants to deliver a completely new story to the fans. Gareth Edwards (Godzilla and Star Wars: A Rogue One Story) will helm the project. Stay tuned for more updates.
