Ghostface is going to slash back onscreen AGAIN! You heard that right. ” Scream 5 “, already a bonafide blockbuster of the year is now coming back with a sequel that was quickly greenlit after the success of the latest installment. Officially, this is the 6th part of the Scream franchise. Paramount and Spyglass has already set their clocks ticking for March 31,2023.
Scream 5 already is revered in the critics circle and made around $140 million worldwide. So the hype around Scream 6 is.. understandably quite high. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett returns to directorial hats with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick back to co-writing the script.
With no plot details revealed yet, the 6th part of the franchise seems to be living up the reputation of the series. That is, mysterious, broody, violent slasher film with an equally scary ghostface. It is reported that Courteney Cox would be returning for the sixth installment as well and the filming will begin by Summer 2022. There is so much anticipation surrounding how many of the cast members will be returning in the sequel.
