In what can be termed as a role reversal of sorts, a show that became popular on the streaming platform is getting adapted for television. We are talking about the Netflix blockbuster docuseries, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness.
Senior Hollywood star Nicholas Cage who dominated the box office in the nineties is going to play the lead focus character of the series, Joe Exotic. CBS Television Studios and Imagine Television are jointly producing the series. It will comprise of eight episodes.
The critical point to note here is that the TV series isn’t a direct remake of Netflix’s docuseries. It is an adaptation of a story published in Texas Monthly in 2019. The same happens to be the source for Netflix’s Tiger King, as well.
The TV mini-series is commissioned because of the extreme popularity seen by the Netflix show. Joe King has become the talk of the town. It had led to a couple of spin-off programme being created to cash in on the craze. Going by the announcement of the latest adaptation, it looks like the Tiger King phenomena is not going to end anytime soon. People can’t seem to get enough of the story and the person.
