The much awaited trailer of the American comedy ”Senior Year’’ starring Rebel Wilson has been dropped by Netflix. The story is of a high-school cheerleader Stephanie Conway (played by Rebel Wilson), whose life was totally perfect – she was the cheer captain in school, had an attractive boyfriend and was just waiting to become the prom Queen when things took a complete 360 degree turn for the worse. She falls off a pyramid and suffers a massive head injury which brought her to coma. She was in the hospital for 20 years, immovable on bed, when finally one day the dawn arrived in her life and she wakes up as a 37 year old woman. Upset about not being able to complete high school, she decides to re-enroll in school and finish her senior year. Her parents were reluctant of her decision but she was obstinate and decided to pursue her unfulfilled dream of becoming the prom queen, as we see her saying
“Everybody else just got to go on and live their lives , and I’m supposed to just jump forward?”
As she enters high school, she discovers a whole new world to her suprise, where everything just transformed, excluding her. We see her saying that this time she’s going to do something she wishes she would have had that confidence to get it done 20 years ago, in the year 2002 i.e ‘Be her authentic and real self.’
“Senior Year” is slated to release on May 13, only on Netflix. It’s will be very interesting to see how the main character relives her high school days which is indeed supposed to be one of the significant days of our lives, filled with fond memories that always leaves a deep imprint in our lives.
