Brazilian motorsports racing driver Ayrton Senna rose to Formula 1 fame when he won the World Drivers’ Championship in 1988, 1990, and 1991, becoming one of the only 3 Brazilian F1 drivers to become the World Champion.
Throughout his impressive career, he won 41 Grands Prix and set 65 pole positions, with the latter being the record until 2006. Netflix’s upcoming series ‘Senna’ is a dramatization of the legend’s legacy, including all of his victories and achievements, on and off the track, before his untimely death in 1994, at the young age of 34.
Premiering in late 2024, the limited series stars Gabriel Leone as the lead man Senna. The first trailer of the docuseries promises a recreation of Senna’s historic victory, including the narration of Galvão Bueno, at the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos. It is also followed by a challenging race, the one that marks the first time he won in his hometown of Sao Paulo.
The thrilling and riveting series is all set to follow Senna’s journey through triumph, disappointment, joy, and sorrow; unveiling his personality and personal relationships. The ensemble cast includes Pâmela Tomé, Matt Mella, Patrick Kennedy, and Gabriel Louchard.
