A brand-new reality show is landing on Prime Video tomorrow, and it’s called The Traitors. This is the Indian version of the international hit that mixes mind games, betrayal, and a lot of drama. With a show like this, you’d expect everyone to be talking about it. But oddly, there’s almost no excitement.
The big surprise is that the show is being hosted by Karan Johar. He’s a huge name in the entertainment world, someone who knows how to handle drama and big personalities. Add to that a fancy setup at a grand Rajasthani palace and a bunch of familiar faces from Indian TV and social media, and it should’ve been a sure-shot hit. But for some reason, the buzz is completely missing.
It looks like Prime Video has not pushed this show hard enough. There has hardly been any major promotion. In today’s world, where shows are fighting for attention every day, you can’t just rely on big names. You need strong marketing, teasers, posters, interviews, something to create curiosity. Unfortunately, very few of those really happened here and even then, it went under the radar of most people.
So now, the show is about to launch, but people don’t seem to be waiting for it. It might still catch on if the content is spicy enough and word-of-mouth kicks in. But right now, the chances don’t look great. With a concept like this and a host like Karan, it should’ve been a big deal. Maybe it still can be. We’ll have to wait and see what kind of response it gets once it finally goes live.
