We often hear superstars making their OTT debut but when it comes to the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, it was always supposed to be something grand and different. And that’s how it is, Shah Rukh Khan is venturing into the OTT space with a platform of his own.
Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter and announced SRK+ in a little ambiguous manner which left many thinking of the various possibilities. But let us tell you that it’s now confirm that SRK+ is nothing else but new OTT app and Anurag Kashyap is among those who will be collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan on his new streaming service.

Salman Khan and Karan Johar were among the first few big celebrities who congratulated Shah Rukh Khan on his new venture.

All this looks great but there’s one thing that might have gone unnoticed. Last year in September, Shah Rukh had come up with a series of videos in association with Disney+ Hotstar with #SiwaySRK. In these videos he talked about how he wanted to enter into OTT space and it also showed how FOMO had struck him. But this series stopped abruptly after a while, most probably due to some personal issues.
And now as Shah Rukh launched this new poster for SRK+, we couldn’t help but notice the striking similarity between his clothes in those #SiwaySRK videos and the latest poster.
Hmmmm….Picture toh abhi baaki hai….mere doston… #SiwaySRK https://t.co/YhtnTrIHK1

Could this be a unique collaboration between Disney+ Hotstar and Shah Rukh Khan? Well, the possibility is too strong to ignore and other than the above stated reason the presence of ‘+’ in both their names is another thing to think about.
While we await the official details on SRK+ and the projects that will be coming up on this new OTT app, what are your thoughts about it? Is it a smart choice to launch a new OTT platform in India right now, given the limited paying capacity of a common Indian citizen on entertainment and how most have already invested in a few other subscriptions?
