Shah Rukh Khan’s latest action extravaganza ‘Pathaan’ has set the cash registers ringing at ticket windows across the country. The film has been credited with reviving the failing fortunes of Bollywood, not to say, infusing a new enthusiasm in Bollywood filmmakers and giving them that much-needed glimmer of hope for the future of Bollywood.
The craze for Pathaan is such that people who’ve already watched the film in the theatres are waiting desperately for the film to arrive on streaming, just so that they can re-watch in the comforts of their home, savouring it in leisure as per their time and convenience. The Shah Rukh Khan – John Abraham – Deepika Padukone triumvirate has truly hit bullseye this time, along with its director Sidharth Anand, who also has mega-hit ‘War’ to his name.
Now we have the confirmed ‘Pathaan’ OTT release date, and it happens to be 22nd March, which is next Wednesday! Prime Video India has bagged the streaming rights for Pathaan, and the film will premiere on the platform next week.
Pathaan released in theatres in India on January 25th. It will now premiere on streaming on 22nd March, a full 55 days after its theatrical release. We still don’t know if Prime Video India will release Pathaan on pay-per-view first, as it does with big ticket films, or whether it will arrive straight on normal subscription based streaming.
Pathaan is a spy action thriller, which centres on elusive Indian spy Pathaan and his mission to protect his country from the sinister plans of a dangerous terrorist. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and written by Shridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, from a story by Anand. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.
