Shahid Kapoor’s Upcoming Ali Abbas Zafar Film To Premiere On OTT

Fans of action thrillers are super excited about the coming together of spunky actor Shahid Kapoor and Tiger Zinda Hai director, Ali Abbas Zafar for a high octane action extravaganza. We at Binged had earlier informed our readers about the duo working on a film together. The film is tentatively titled ‘Bloody Daddy’, and is currently in development.

Now, the latest news regarding the upcoming Shahid Kapoor film is that the makers have decided to skip a theatrical release, and release ‘Bloody Daddy’ directly on OTT. The platform that has snared the film is streaming giant, Netflix. As reported by Peeping Moon, the film will release on Netflix sometime around the mid of next year.

Bloody Daddy is apparently the official remake of 2011 French film, Nuit Blanche. The events of the film take place over the course of a single night. Shahid Kapoor plays a police officer and a father who must rescue his young daughter from the clutches of the drug mafia. Bloody Daddy is produced by Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra of Offside Entertainment. Sunir Kheterpal is co-producing the film under his banner of Anthena Entertainment, along with Gaurav Bose of The Vermilion World Productions.

Ali Abbas Zafar has a lucrative deal with Netflix in place. He is also developing an Indian Original superhero franchise for the streamer. Katrina Kaif is playing the lead as the superhero in the first film of the franchise.

Besides Bloody Daddy, Shahid Kapoor has another OTT project in the works. He is working with Raj and DK, of The Family Man fame, on a web series for Prime Video. Tentatively titled ‘Sunny’, the series also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Raashi Khanna and Regina Cassandra.
