The days of jumpscare in horrors are over long back. People are demanding psychological horror and many more experiments for a sense of newness. Shaitaan, a remake of the Gujarati film Vash falls in exactly that innovative category.
“Shaitaan,” directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Devgn Films, Jio Studios, and Panorama Studios, takes audiences on a gripping journey into the world of black magic and possession. Starring Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala, and Anngad Raaj, the film tells the story of the Rishi family, who encounter a mysterious stranger named Vanraj Kashyap (R. Madhavan) who brings chaos into their lives.
The peaceful life of the Rishi family turns topsy turvy when their eldest daughter, Janhvi (Janki Bodiwala), falls under the spell of black magic after eating a laddu given by Vanraj. As Vanraj’s sinister intentions become clear, Kabir (Ajay Devgn) and Jyoti (Jyothika) start to fight to save Janhvi and uncover the truth behind Vanraj’s powers.
It is actually a very nice film that serves as a great horror. The movie is a must watch for those who love horror and experimental movies. Earlier we anticipated that the movie will drop on the 3rd of May i.e. today. However, there seems to be a change of plans and the movie will start streaming tonight i.e. on the 4th of May on Netflix India.
