Filmmaker Vikas Bahl, who is well known for directing the endearing comedy drama film ‘Queen’ starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, and Hrithik Roshan’s inspiring drama ‘Super 30’, is ready for his next directorial project. This time, he is treading uncharted waters because his forthcoming film as a director belongs to the supernatural horror genre. We are talking about the movie ‘Shaitaan’, which features Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Jyothika in the lead roles. It’s slated for a theatrical release on 8th March 2024.
The makers have just unveiled the first teaser of ‘Shaitaan’. ‘Shaitaan’ teaser is essentially R. Madhavan speaking a monologue in an ominous and evil-sounding voice and later has glimpses of the three main characters played by Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, and Jyothika. After a spate of interesting posters, ‘Shaitaan’ teaser has added another layer of intrigue for the upcoming film. R. Madhavan’s voice modulation is spot on.
Although the precise plot details for ‘Shaitaan’ are being kept under the wraps, it looks like the movie might be based on either the use of voodoo dolls, black magic, and/or dark spirits. It was being speculated that the film is a remake of the Gujarati film ‘Vash’ which revolved around a family, whose lives take a drastic turn when a mysterious stranger enters their lives. However, the same hasn’t been confirmed.
Interestingly, ‘Shaitaan’ is the Hindi film comeback for Jyothika, who made her acting debut opposite Akshaye Khanna in the 1997 Priyadarshan film ‘Doli Saja Ke Rakhna’. Moreover, the film also marks the return of Ajay Devgn to the horror genre after RGV’s ‘Bhoot’. R. Madhavan too has also starred in the terrific film ‘13B’, which was a psychological mystery thriller with elements of horror.
Ajay Devgn, who last starred in ‘Bholaa’, will next be seen in ‘Maidaan’, ‘Singham Again’, ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’, and ‘Raid 2’. On the other hand, R. Madhavan, who impressed us in the Netflix series ‘The Railway Men’, will next be seen in a movie co-starring Akshay Kumar, ‘Hissab Barabar’, ‘Test’, and a Tamil film ‘Adhirshtasaali’.
