Apple TV+ has released the trailer of its highly anticipated upcoming drama series ‘Shantaram’ and its all about finding redemption. Created by Steve Lightfoot and Eric Warren Singer, ‘Shantaram’ will make its global debut with the first three episodes on Friday, October 14, 2022, followed by one new episode weekly every Friday through December 16, 2022, on Apple TV+.
Season one of ‘Shantaram’ on Apple TV+ will consist of twelve episodes and is based on an internationally best selling novel by Gregory David Roberts. The series follows a fugitive named Lin Ford (Charlie Hunnam) who is looking to get lost in vibrant and chaotic 1980s Bombay. Alone in an unfamiliar city, Lin struggles to avoid the trouble he’s running from in this new place. After falling for an enigmatic and intriguing woman named Karla, Lin must choose between freedom or love and the complications that come with it.
Directed by Bharat Nalluri who also serves as an executive producer for the series, ‘Shantaram’ marks Charlie Hunnam’s return to television after a gap of eight years. In addition to Hunnam, the series also stars Shubham Saraf, Elektra Kilbey, Fayssal Bazzi, Luke Pasqualino, Antonia Desplat, Alyy Khan, Sujaya Dasgupta, Vincent Perez, David Field, Alexander Siddig, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Elham Ehsas, Rachel Kamath, Matthew Joseph and Shiv Palekar.
‘Shantaram’ is co-created, written, showrun and executive produced by Steve Lightfoot. Andrea Barron, Nicole Clemens, Steve Golin and Justin Kurzel also executive produce along with Singer. Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content’s AC Studios have produced ‘Shantaram’ for Apple TV+.
Apple Original Series ‘Shantaram’ will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on 14th October, 2022.
