A family drama movie called ‘Shastry Viruddh Shastry’ was released in theatres last month on 3rd November. Although the film did not receive a great deal of attention and buzz, it got decent reviews from critics and appreciation from those who watched the film. ‘Shastry Viruddh Shastry’ is a Hindi-language remake of the 2017 Bengali film ‘Posto’ and has been directed by the same director-duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee.
In case you missed watching the movie ‘Shastry Viruddh Shastry’ in cinemas, then there is nothing to worry about because it will soon start streaming on an Indian OTT platform. As per the latest update, the movie will premiere on the Netflix streaming service on 29th December, that is, next Friday.
The basic story of ‘Shastry Viruddh Shastry’ revolves around a 7-year-old boy named Yaman, who lives with and is taken care of by his grandparents (played by Paresh Rawal and Neena Kulkarni) in Panchgani. The boy’s parents, who live in Mumbai, visit their child during the weekends.
But the story takes a serious turn when the boy’s father (Shiv Panditt) gets a chance to work abroad, and it creates a rift between the boy’s parents and grandparents owing to the child’s custody. Since the grandparents do not want their grandson to go to the US, the grandfather fights a legal battle against his own son.
