Netflix today dropped the trailer and premiere date of ‘She’, its next Original series from India. ‘She’ is the third in the list of web shows that were bought by Netflix from Viacom 18’s Tipping Point Productions — the other two being Jamtara and Taj Mahal 1989 — and it is now ready for release. The series will premiere on Netflix on 20th March, becoming the year’s third Indian series to stream on Netflix, after the aforementioned two.
‘She’ is the story of a female constable who is timid, needy and one among the powerless lower ranks of the police machinery. She is chosen by her higher-ups to accomplish a dangerous mission – she has to infiltrate a drug smuggling gang by honey-trapping a thief associated with the gang. The thief is nabbed, and made to spill the secrets of the gang, but in the course of the mission, she discovers the power wielded by her sexuality and how she can use it to her advantage.
Aaditi Pohankar plays the female constable and Vijay Varma plays the thief. The series is written by well-known Bollywood writer-director, Imtiaz Ali.
