The recent affinity towards Asian content is highly prominent across all OTT platforms. They are not only investing money and resources but also generating significant hype around it. This time, the trailer for “Shōgun” has hit the market and created quite a buzz.
The FX dropper trailer features favorites such as Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis.
Adding to the list of novel-adapted films, this one is also inspired by James Clavell’s 1975 novel of the same name.
In this 10-episode limited series, we’re transported to Japan in the year 1600, where we witness Lord Yoshii Toranaga’s struggle for survival as his adversaries on the Council of Regents unite against him.
The trailer is filled with a plethora of intriguing dialogues, setting the entire mood of the series. The monologues also delve into the meanings and mottos of their lives, leaving a trail of mystery, an essence of betrayal, and the spirit of a warrior.
The trailer also boasts the perfect amount of good cinematography; the color palette alone can draw you into the series. Also, kudos to the BGM, it couldn’t sound better.
The cast of “Shogun” features Fumi Nikaido, Yuki Kura, Shinnosuke Abe, Tokuma Nishioka, Moeka Hoshi, Takehiro Hira, Hiroto Kanai, Tadanobu Asano, Anna Sawai, along with Sanada and Jarvis. This talented ensemble of actors comes together to bring the story to life.
Justin Marks will serve as the executive producer, and joining him will be Michaela Clavell, Edward L. McDonnell, Michael De Lu, and Kondo.
