Shows Like Money Heist, Lucifer Help Netflix Maintain This Trend

Shows Like Money Heist, Lucifer Help Netflix Maintain This Trend

Netflix, the streaming platform that has attracted everyone ever since it was released with its brilliant content. From amazing series to brilliant movies, Netflix has it all and it has instantly become everyone’s go-to site. Netflix over the years has produced some of the greatest content like Stranger Things, Narcos, Ozark, Lost In Space and so many other awesome hits. The list is absolutely ending and it is still on its way to create even more brilliant movies and series.

With the growing competition from everywhere and in every market that Netflix is in right now, it has to buck up and produce even greater content. To tackle this, Netflix over the years has used a very successful technique and that is of buying the rights of series that were cancelled originally on TV. This includes super hit shows like “Lucifer”, “Money Heist”, “Designated Survivor” and so many others, along with the most recent “Manifest”. As soon as Netflix takes over these series, fans at least get the much-needed closure that wouldn’t have been possible if it wouldn’t have been picked up.

But here’s a thing with Netflix renewing series and seasons. Since Netflix tastes the success of these series making it big, they keep on renewing it even when the show screams that it needs to end. This was specifically seen with series like “13 Reasons Why”, which continued for 4 seasons, whereas it could have easily stopped and completed the story at Season 2, same with Spanish hit “Elite”, “Fate: The Winx Saga” and many others. All these get renewed only because they have attracted a larger population. Even when there couldn’t be a story and it is almost turning up tacky, Netflix still plans to continue with it.

Again another factor Netflix has recently put to use is the “two-part series finale”, which is nothing but a tactic to increase one more season and gain more attention, which definitely is working. This especially was seen with “Money Heist” and “Lucifer”, two of the most uber-famous shows on Netflix. Both Lucifer and Money Heist got an extra season, which definitely brought in more viewers to the streaming platforms. This new tactic will be used for Ozark too, but at least Ozark is not being unnecessarily extended like the other two series.

If this is the case, fans are worried that superhit shows Stranger Things, Never Have I Ever, Sex Education, and many others might face the same situation. It’s the exhaustion of the story and trying hard to build another as effective as the first, is something that gets to fans. It’s never like the fans don’t want to see their favorite characters, but when you can end it one or two more episodes, there is no need to extend it more seasons and include stories that were not needed in the first place.

So, even though we love super hit shows like Money Heist, Lucifer, Ozark, and more. We hope no more stories are extended and given the twists that weren’t needed in the first place. This continuation of series and extending the seasons have now seemingly ended up becoming more of a trend for Netflix right now. A trend of over exhausting the stories, over exhausting the concept and at the losing track of what it actually set out to do.
