Shyam Singha Roy has done something that was seemingly impossible before. The film starring Sai Pallavi and Nani in the lead role was viewed for 35,90,000 hours in just a matter of two days for which the record is available.
If you remember then the first Indian movie to find a spot in Netflix top 10 global was Sooryavanshi. Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi what’s the most-watched movie on Netflix India only after Taapsee Pannu’s Haseen Dillruba.
But even Sooryavanshi could find a position in the 5th spot.
Regardless, Shyam Singha Roy climbed up to the position of number 3 on Netflix charts.
No Indian film has ever climbed up so high on Netflix charts. Needless to say, Nani enjoys a huge following in his domestic market and that has clearly benefited the film.
People were saying that the genre of romance is now dead but yet again Nani and Sai Pallavi’s charm has rejuvenated it in a completely new form.
The movie revolves around a struggling filmmaker Vasu and a social reformer called Shyam Singha Roy. Both the characters are played by Nani and it received great applause.
The movie was initially released in theatres where it earned a positive response.
