Starring Jimmy Shergill as Inspector Jaswinder Singh, the movie Sikandar Ka Muqaddam takes up the story with a typical moral stake of telling truth long after the 2008 diamond robbery. Superior ensemble by way of Tamannaah Bhatia and Avinash Tiwary aids the movie to claim depth in ethics.
Around three major suspects, all of whom are – Mangesh Desai (Rajeev Mehta), Kamini (Bhatia), and Sikandar Sharma (Tiwary) that is set and directed by Neeraj Pandey, the movie reflects on the questionable decisions created due to his growing involvement with normal notions of justice as he digs deep into his research.
The overall theme of the film, which revolves around the dilemma of the moral issue, finding justice at whatever costs, naturally goes hand in hand with Singh’s obsessive nature and works in great measures to blur the lines of right and evil and question the cost of truth for him, and the audience.
One very basic question in the case of Singh arises: Can justice be delivered without losing one’s moral compass? Does the movie force the viewers, through the wholesome story, to ponder if the sacrifices made for the truth are worth giving up something worthwhile?.
Finally, what it finally brings to the audience is a far deeper and provoking deliberation regarding justice or whether it goes as far as being justified by the personal cost it takes. This movie comes with promising nuances of character and ethical dilemmas.
