The supporting actors truly elevate the film. While relatively new, Miles Caton delivers a compellingly raw and energetic performance as Sammie. And Wunmi Mosaku’s Annie, though appearing in only a few scenes, is a powerful anchor for the narrative. Her presence is undeniable, bringing a consistent vulnerability and grace to her interactions, particularly with her lover, Smoke.
The film boasts a fantastic plot, but the soundtrack is on another level. With Ludwig Göransson — the Oscar-winning composer behind Oppenheimer and Black Panther — leading the music production, high quality was expected. Yet the resulting soundscape is even more powerful and impressive than we could have imagined.
