Paramount has dropped the official teaser trailer of Smile 2, featuring Naomi Scott as the popstar Skye Riley. It serves as a direct sequel to Smile (2022), which took the horror crowd by storm during its theatrical run. Written and directed by Parker Finn, the first film minted over $217 million globally against a $17 million budget. Sosie Bacon’s performance as Rose Cutter received acclaim from both critics and viewers.
Kyle Gallner reprises his character of Detective Joel from the first film in the upcoming sequel. Apart from Scott, the new additions to Smile 2’s cast are Lukas Gage, Rosemarie DeWitt, Dylan Gelula, Raul Castillo, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley.
Plot details are being kept under wraps. Given how the first movie ended, we should expect Joel to be the next carrier of the dangerous curse in the forthcoming sequel. It means that Gallner’s Joel could get less screen time in the second chapter compared to the first film. Although, fans are going to get more of those creepy and sinister smiles this time.
