Netflix is coming with it’s next original, ‘Mai : A Mother’s Rage‘ featuring Sakshi Tanwar (Sheel) as the mourning mother who transforms herself after the merciless death of her daughter. This six-episode Netflix show will be premiered on April 15.
This intense dark drama-thriller is produced by Karnesh Ssharma of Clean Slate Filmz and directed by Anshai Lal and casting director Atul Mongia (his debut in direction).
Today Netflix dropped the character promo starring Ankur Ratan as Farooque. The teaser revealed the character of Farooque, who seemed to be perplexed, as he recalls his time with his wife and Supriya, the girl who faced the tragic death. He can’t ever reveal the truth to his own wife, but he could share everything with Supriya, the girl who stood by him even after knowing the nuanced details of his life. He seemed to be contemplating that if he would have ever known the truth about Supriya, he could have saved her life.
The show is emotional, ominous, dark and intense as we will get to see how single-handedly one mother tries to unmasks the truth behind her daughter’s death, fighting all appalling circumstances. The gritty storyline alongwith the nuanced performances of the actor will surely keep us on the edge of the seat.
The series also stars Wamiqa Gabbi as Sheel’s daughter and Raima Sen in a supporting role.
Ankur Ratan is known for his works in projects like ‘Officer’ (2018), ‘Inside Edge’ (2017) and ‘Emotion: The Cardiogram of Life’ (2010).
