Sonic The Hedgehog 2 trailer has arrived. The first part came in 2020 and the character needs no introduction.
Voiced by Schwartz, Sonic is a humanoid hedgehog who can run at supersonic speed. He is useful and friendly. Due to these two characteristics, he befriends the local town sheriff Tom Wachowski.
They are after a maniac evil scientist Dr Robotnik played by Jim Carrey. Carrey, if you remember, is an exceptionally talented actor from the 80s and 90s. He is known for playing comedy roles but he certainly had a fearsome and creepy smile. That helped him immensely play this villainous character in the Sonic The Hedgehog series.
Sonic is a character that was planned to debut in the 1990s itself. But saying no further development, Sony Pictures bought the rights in 2013. But even though they didn’t start the project, after a few years Paramount Pictures purchased the same rights.
When the first part got released in 2020, it didn’t get a lot of positive reviews. The character, based on a super famous video game, was not given enough attention by the makers for details. Although the performance of the actors was praiseworthy, the story could be far better than it actually was.
The film features Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic. James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Jim Carrey are retained from the 2020 film. New additions include Shemar Moore, with Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.
