Get ready to witness the GameStop/Wall Street drama in Sony’s Dumb Money, hitting the theatres worldwide this Halloween. The upcoming biographical comedy-drama will come out on October 20.
Dumb Money will depict the real-life story of a group of amateur investors and Reddit users from ‘WallStreetBets’ who worked together to put a squeeze on at least a couple of mammoth hedge funds on Wall Street. The film will take its inspiration from Ben Mezrich’s novel, The Antisocial Network.
The forthcoming biographical flick treasures a sensational cast of Paul Dano, Sebastian Stan, Seth Rogen, Shailene Woodley, Pete Davidson, Anthony Ramos, America Ferrera, Vincent D’Onofrio, Nick Offerman, Dane DeHaan, and many more. Insiders from Sony and Stage 6 are tight-lipped about the project’s plot details.
Craig Gillespie will helm Dumb Money. He is well-known for directing Colin Farrell’s Fright Night (2011), Margot Robbie’s I, Tonya (2017), and Emma Stone’s Cruella (2021). In addition, the duo of Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo will adapt the film’s script from Mezrich’s book.
Sony and Stage 6 Films will release Dumb Money on October 20. Stay tuned for more updates.
