SonyLIV Announces Huge Slate For 2024 Across Languages

SonyLIV has announced a big slate for 2024. The platform known for the superhit show Rocket Boys and Scam 1992 has some big plans. Interestingly, diversity is one of the big factors they are considering, thus we find the slate distributed across languages.

So let’s see what the platform has announced.

Hindi Slate

1. Badaa Naam Karenge:

Renowned filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, known for Uunchai, is set to make his streaming debut with this family drama, scheduled to premiere during the Diwali holiday in November.

2. Summer of 77:

Sudhir Mishra directs this university drama exploring themes of romance and friendship, set against the backdrop of the Indian political emergency of 1975-77. But, we know it is never going to be just romance if it is Sudhir Mishra.

3. Raat Jawan Hai:

Starring Barun Sobti and Anjali Anand, this modern and quirky show addresses contemporary issues and challenges of today.

4. Civil Lines:

Civil Lines is another engaging family drama created by Durgesh Singh, the talented writer behind the hit SonyLIV show Gullak.

5. Tanaav – Season 2:

Tanaav, the second season of this hit series is coming. For those of you who do not know, it is a remake of the hit Israeli drama Fauda.

6. Chamak – Season 2:

The recently released show Chamak will also return for a second season.

7. Undekhi – Season 3:

The riveting drama of Undekhi returns with its third season, promising more twists and turns.

8. Gullak – Season 4:

The heartwarming tales of Gullak continue in its third season, exploring the intricacies of family life with humour and warmth.

9. Kan Khajura

Experience the Indian adaptation of Israel’s Magpie with Kan Khajura. This promises a unique twist to the original, blending cultural nuances seamlessly.

10. Freedom at Midnight

Nikkhil Advani brings a riveting political drama based on Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins’ book. The series delves into the intricacies of political narratives, promising an engaging storyline.

11. 36 Days

Prepare for a gripping suspense thriller with 36 Days.

12. Waking of a Nation

Renowned director Ram Madhvani explores the Indian freedom movement in Waking of a Nation. Mind you, he is the man behind Hotstar blockbuster Aarya.

Telugu Slate

1. Lords of the Deccan

Immerse yourself in the historical action-drama series Lords of the Deccan, in association with Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media. Adapted from the bestseller by Anrirudh Kanisetti, the show explores the rich history of Southern India from the Chalukyas to the Cholas.

2. Brinda

Starring Trisha Krishnan, Brinda is a compelling female cop story that intricately weaves in the folklore of Andhra Pradesh.

3. Kanyasulkam

Kanyasulkam takes you back in time with a period piece on social issues. Based on a landmark 1892 play, this show is led by Krish Jagarlamudi (Kanche) as the showrunner, promising a deep exploration of historical and societal themes.

4. Bench

Corporate drama Bench from the dynamic showrunner-director duo Manasa Sharma and Mahesh Uppala.

5. Indraprastham

Political drama from showrunner-director Deva Katta.

Malayalam Slate

1. Jai Mahendran

Embark on a journey of humor and introspection with Jai Mahendran, a slice-of-life satire from showrunner Rahul Riji Nair (Kho Kho).

2. Blindfold

Prepare for an adrenaline-pumping experience with Blindfold, a thrilling mystery from showrunner-directors Anzarulla (Vishuddha Arappiyude Onnam Athbhutha Pravarthi) and Harshad (Unda).

Tamil Slate

1. The Madras Mystery – Fall of a Superstar

A Tamil-language series based on a murder case in 1940s British India with A.L. Vijay (Boo) as showrunner.

2. Journey:

Cheran (Autograph) brings a Tamil socio-economic drama exploring the complexities of society.

3. Free Love:

A young and frothy Tamil show, promising a lighthearted journey filled with love, laughter, and the trials of youth.

Marathi Slate

1. Lampan:

A Marathi coming-of-age series from showrunner-director Nipun Dharmadhikari (Me Vasantrao).
