We reported earlier about Malayalam film ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ dropping early on SonyLIV, turns out it’s not alone and the much awaited fourth instalment of TVF’s ‘Gullak’ franchise has also debuted hours before its premiere date.
Scheduled to release on 7th June, ‘Gullak 4’ is here on 6th June itself. While ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ was a licensed film set to make its world digital premiere on SonyLIV post its theatrical release, the family comedy series is exclusively coming to the platform and hasn’t been seen before.
It’s probably not the first time something like this is happening on SonyLIV. ‘Undekhi Season 3’, ‘Famiky Aaj Kal’, ‘2018’, ‘Christy’ are some other titles that met the same fate and dropped earlier than expected.
While it may be a good surprise for the viewers it does show the lack of management at the back end for the streamer, something one wouldn’t expect from such big names like Sony.
Created and directed by Shreyansh Pandey, and written by Vidit Tripathi, ‘Gullak 4’ stars Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Harsh Mayar, Sunita Rajwar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Saad Bilgrami, Helly Shah, and Manuj Sharma. Produced by Arunabh Kumar, ‘Gullak 4’ is one of the most awaited series of the year much like ‘Panchayat’, ‘Mirzapur’ and more.
