Jayasurya starrer, Malayalam film ‘Eesho‘ is one of the most awaited films in recent times of the Malayalam star. SonyLIV recently announced its acquisition of ‘Eesho’, along with the direct digital release of the film on its platform. ‘Eesho’ will premiere on SonyLIV on October 5, as a Dussehra release.
This evening, SonyLIV also released an extended trailer for ‘Eesho’, which gives viewers an inkling of what the film is about. The trailer is dark and edgy, and set mostly in the dead of night. Jayasurya plays a stranger in town, who terrorises the elderly guard of a bank ATM with his mysterious behaviour. The trailer builds up the suspense well with eerie images – the hanging body of a young girl, blood and gore, suspicious looking characters. The well-cut ‘Eesho’ trailer certainly helps in amping up our excitement for the film.
‘Eesho’ stars Jayasurya, Namitha Pramod and Jaffar Idukki in prominent roles, along with Suresh Krishna, Johny Antony, Indrans, among others. The film is directed by Nadirshah, written by Suneesh Varanad and produced by Arun Narayan.
‘Eesho’ was mired in controversy in its earlier days. The film had faced some resistance from the Catholic community in Kerala, since the word ‘Eesho’ is the Malayalam term for Jesus Christ. However, the courts rejected all opposition to the film’s title, and gave the go-ahead for the release of the film.
