SonyLIV is bringing the acclaimed anthology film ‘Tryst With Destiny’ for its subscribers. The Prashanth Nair directed film had premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, and had gone on to win the award for Best Screenplay. The star-studded film will premiere on SonyLIV on November 4th.
‘Tryst with Destiny‘ is an anthology of four distinct short stories that explore the disparities and discrimination in India even 75 years after independence. The title of the anthology, as viewers must have guessed, is named after Pandit Nehru’s historic speech in 1947. ‘Tryst With Destiny’ casts its eye on how far we’ve come since.
The anthology beautifully captures the socio-economic inequalities that exist in society. Each chapter tells the story of an individual in contemporary India and his or her struggle to be ‘what destiny intended them to be.’
The anthology features Vineet Kumar Singh, Palomi Ghosh, Jaideep Ahlawat, Kani Kusruti, Ashish Vidyarthi, Amit Sial, Ishwak Singh, Lilette Dubey, Victor Banerjee, Geetanjali Thapa, and Suhasini Maniratnam in prominent roles. Jointly produced by Manish Mundra’s Drishyam Films and French Studio Backup Media, Tryst With Destiny, will stream on SonyLIV from November 4th.
