SonyLIV’s ‘Rocket Boys’ Trailer, Release Date Out!

By Binged Bureau - Jan 20, 2022 @ 06:01 pm

SonyLIV has just revealed the first trailer for its ambitious original series, ‘Rocket Boys’. The streamer has also revealed a release date for the much-awaited show. All episodes of ‘Rocket Boys’ premiere on SonyLIV on 4th February, 2022.

Rocket Boys on SonyLIV will tell the story of the most eminent scientists produced by the country – the father of India’s atomic program, Homi Bhabha; and the pioneer of India’s space program, Vikram Sarabhai. Along the way, it will also introduce us to that other Indian stalwart who spearheaded India’s space endeavours. Yes, it is none other than A P J Abdul Kalam.

The trailer shows how the trio comes together to conceive, nurture and spearhead India’s nuclear and space program. Jim Sarbh (Sanju, Neerja) plays the role of Homi Bhabha; Ishwak Singh (Paatal Lok, Unpaused) plays Vikram Sarabhai; and upcoming actor Arjun Radhakrishnan (Love In The Time Of Corona) plays A P J Abdul Kalam.

The trailer shows that the narrative is set in the twentieth century, from the 1930s to the 1960s, and centres on the coming-of-age of two of the brightest minds of India – Vikram Sarabhai and Homi Bhabha. The narrative will deal with how each spearheaded their chosen branches of India’s scientific awakening – Homi Bhabha conceived and conceptualized India’s nuclear programme, while Vikram Sarabhai birthed and gave wings to the country’s space programme.

Rocket Boys will also shine a spotlight on how the two crossed paths and worked together to launch keen scientific temperament in the country. Not just that, it will depict a clash of wills between the two that threatened to derail all that they had worked for; how they came good on their potential despite the odds heavily stacked against them; how they fell in love with their respective life partners, and lots more.

Regina Cassandra plays Mrinalini Sarabhai, Vikram Sarabhai’s danseuse wife, while Saba Azad plays Homi Bhabha’s love interest. Rocket Boys also stars Rajat Kapur and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in crucial roles.

Rocket Boys is produced by Nikkhil and Monisha Advani’s Emmay Entertainment, in association with Siddharth Roy Kapur and his Roy Kapur Films. Rocket Boys is created by Nikkhil Advani, and directed by Abhay Pannu.

Rocket Boys premieres on SonyLIV on 4th February. Have a look at the trailer of Rocket Boys, unveiled by SonyLIV today –
