SonyLIV had announced its new Tamil anthology series ‘Victim: Who Is Next’ back in March 2022. This morning, the streaming platform launched the first trailer for the intriguing anthology. SonyLIV also revealed the release date of the upcoming anthology. Tamil anthology ‘Victim: Who Is Next‘ premieres on SonyLIV on August 5, 2022.
‘Victim: Who Is Next’ will be a series of four short films, each revolving around the theme of ‘victim and perpetrator’, ‘prey and predator’. The films have been directed by stellar directors, Venkat Prabhu, Pa Ranjith, M Rajesh, and Chimbu Deven. While Venkat Prabhu has earlier premiered several titles on OTT, SonyLIV’s ‘Victim’ will mark the OTT debut of the latter three directors.
M Rajesh’s short film in the ‘Victim’ anthology is titled ‘Mirrage’. It seems to be a psychological thriller, with supernatural elements. Chimbu Deven’s story is titled ‘Kottai Pakku Vathalum…Mottai Maadi Sitharum’. It stars Nasser as a supposedly 400 year old man, who enters the life of a naive man. Pa Ranjith’s short film is titled ‘Dhammam’ and is set in a rural backdrop, where a group of bullies harass a fellow landowner over harvesting his land. Lastly, Venkat Prabhu’s short film is titled ‘Confession’, and centres on a young woman terrorised by a stalker.
Actors Amala Paul, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Natty, Prasanna, Thambi Ramaiah, Kalaiyarasan, Nasser, Guru Somasundaram, among others, play crucial roles in SonyLIV’s ‘Victim: Who Is Next’. The anthology is produced by Venkat Prabhu’s Black Ticket Productions in collaboration with Axess Film Factory.
