The busiest actor in Bollywood currently, Akshay Kumar, has been quick to announce his string of theatrical releases ever since the Maharashtra government announced the reopening of cinema theatres from 22nd October. Starting with ‘Sooryavanshi‘ on Diwali 2021, followed by ‘Prithviraj’ on 21st January, our Khiladi Kumar also has ‘Bachchan Pandey‘ on 4th March, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ on 11th August, ‘Ram Setu‘ on Diwali 2022, as well as ‘Oh My God 2’ towards the end of 2022. Though there is a special advantage that ‘Sooryavanshi’ has over the other Bollywood releases this year. Read on to find out what it is.
Director Rohit Shetty is being credited for his relentless efforts in the reopening of theatres in Maharashtra and rightly so. The director has smartly chosen the best date of this year for the release of his film ‘Sooryavanshi’. It is the only film this year to have an edge over the other releases, since the film has a two week solo run at the box office, since there are no films releasing between the 4th and 19th November. Interestingly, the anticipation for ‘Sooryavanshi’ will be extra high for Bollywood fans, considering the fact that two films with hardly any buzz are releasing in theatres before it, they being, the Pratik Gandhi starrer ‘Bhavai’, on 22nd October and Adhyayan Suman starrer ‘Bekhudi’ on 29th October.
‘Sooryavanshi’ that releases on 4th Nov, is followed by the Saif Ali Khan-Rani Mukerji starrer, ‘Bunty aur Babli 2’ on 19th Nov, post which the John Abraham starrer ‘Satyameva Jayate 2‘ arrives on 26th November and ‘Tadap’ featuring Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria on 3rd December. Next, the Ayushmann Khurrana-Vaani Kapoor starrer ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ hits screens on 10th December, followed by ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ on 17th December and the Kapil Dev biopic ’83’ with Ranveer Singh in the lead on 24th December. Then comes the Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Jersey’ on 31st December, post which the new year kicks off with Alia Bhatt’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ on 6th January 2022.
