We’re just 2 days away from the release of Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Sooryavanshi‘, that’s all set to hit theatres on November 5, for the occasion of Diwali. The film already has an edge over other 2021 Bollywood releases, considering it’s the only release to have a two-week solo run at the box office this year. Promotions are on in full swing, with the lead cast on all major television shows, including ‘KBC’ and ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’. With a massive screen count, the biggest for Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty, ‘Sooryavanshi’ is all set to take us by storm!
The Rohit Shetty directorial is sure to be the much needed Diwali Dhamaka expected to break records and pull viewers back to theatres for good. After the biggest relief for Bollywood came in the form of the reopening of cinema theatres in Maharashtra, albeit with 50% capacity, came even greater news of 100% cinema occupancy in Delhi NCR, UP and Gujarat. With Rajasthan, Bihar the southern states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu already operating with full capacity, things are looking great for ‘Sooryavanshi’. The total worldwide screen count is in the range of 5500, with 4000 being the count in India and roughly 1500 being the overseas count.
Although a slight setback is expected in the southern regions, due to the Rajinikanth starrer ‘Annaatthe’ blocking screens, the numbers shouldn’t be affected by more than 3-5 crores. Currently, the opening day predictions are in the range of a whopping 30-35 crores, that is nothing short of massive, considering these times. ‘Sooryavanshi’ is expected to touch the 100 Crore mark by the first weekend and it finally looks like the theatre magic is back and here to stay. Well, mark your calendars coz ‘Sooryavanshi’ is all set to storm the big screens from November 5!
