Sorry Cinephiles, Jio MAMI Gets Postponed To Next Year!

The Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) has taken the decision to postpone the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2020. The festival which was to take place from November 5th to November 12th has been postponed to 2021.

In a statement released by the organizers, Isha Ambani (Board of Trustees, MAMI) said, “It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to postpone the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2020 to next year. It is our responsibility to do everything we can to keep our communities safe during this crisis. We are humbled and grateful for the special place that the festival has carved for itself in Mumbai’s cultural landscape. We promise that the festival will come back with fullness in spirit and enthusiasm for our beloved city of Mumbai.”

Although the festival has been pushed to 2021, dates for which will be announced soon, the festival is still continuing with its MAMI Year Round Programme Home Theatre, an online screening program of curated, indie films releasing on the streaming platform, MUBI as well as a new knowledge series called Dial M for Films.

The festival will release the official list of films later this month.
