Sony’s ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ has found a release window on Netflix India. The critically acclaimed sequel will arrive on the streaming platform on October 1.
Developed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Across the Spider-Verse focuses on Miles Morales and his journey in a shared universe of alternate universes known as the Spider-Verse. Miles meets Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman), who introduces him to Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099). He also encounters the team of Spider-People called the Spider-Society during his adventure. However, things turn upside down for Miles and the rest of the Spider-People due to the arrival of a new villain, The Spot.
A direct sequel to Into the Spider-Verse (2018), Across the Spider-Verse earned critical acclaim and collected over $689 million against its $100 million budget.
The ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have halted the production of ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’, the third entry in the trilogy. Apart from this, Sony is also busy developing the Spider-Woman film.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Velez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzmann, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, and more. It has already been declared one of the best movies of 2023 by many critics. Rotten Tomatoes has bestowed a ‘fresh’ 95% rating to the film, based on 372 reviews. Stay tuned for more updates.
