As per an exclusive report from Discussing Film, filmmaker Jon Watts is in talks to direct at least one episode of an upcoming unannounced Star Wars series for Disney+. The report further states that this unannounced series has a working title of Grammar Rodeo and production is expected to begin this Summer in Los Angeles. Also, just like the other Star Wars shows on Disney+, Jon Favreau is said to be an executive producer for this show.
Further details of the shows are still unknown. However, there is speculation that this could be the same mystery project for which casting-related details were reported by The Illuminerdi a few weeks back. Cinelinx has also reported details about a mystery Star Wars project that has been referred to as ‘Stranger Things in Space’ in the past with the primary cast expected to be in their teens/pre-teens. The shooting for the project titled Grammar Rodeo is due to start filming in June, as per a report from Besper Bulletin.
Apart from this project, there are various other Star Wars shows in the works or releasing soon. Obi-Wan Kenobi is scheduled to release on 25th May 2022 with Ahsoka expected to begin filming soon. Season 3 of Mandalorian is underway as well.
Jon Watts, fresh off the mega-hit Spider-Man: No Way Home, is highly sought after at the moment. Jon Watts has directed the recent Spider-Man trilogy for Marvel Studios. He is also directing the reboot of the Fantastic Four for Marvel. Outside of Marvel’s world, he is producing the new Final Destination movie and directing the George Clooney-Brad Pitt starrer for Apple TV+. Fans would certainly hope Jon Watts adds a Star Wars show to his upcoming projects.
