Squid Game S2: Here’s How The Netflix Sensation Could Blow Your Mind

Squid Game S2: Here’s How The Netflix Sensation Could Blow Your Mind

We are still far away from the release of Squid Game Season 2 on Netflix. And we know how people are desperate to get their hands on the next season, given the brilliance and prominence of Season 1. There’s no denying that Season 2 has to answer many questions in order to satisfy the show’s fanbase.

Squid Game Season 1 took the entire world by storm by the latter half of 2021. The K-drama’s immense success forced Netflix to develop the ongoing reality series Squid Game: The Challenge (which has five more episodes under its belt, including the finale, which is scheduled to arrive on December 6).

More than two years have passed since Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) emerged victorious in the deadly Squid Game competition. But the game is far from over as he witnesses new competitors joining the game in Season 1. And we know how hell-bent he is to put an end to the game for good. In other words, Season 2 may turn out to be a revenge story. Although, it will be interesting to see how Gi-hun will make the lives of the game’s creators a living hell in the next season.

Gi-hun also dyed his black hair red in Season 1’s finale for an unspecified reason. Well, we know something about it. According to the creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, the red colour represents “rage”.

“[It] represents that he will never be able to go back to his old self. It is also a sign of his rage,” Dong-hyuk revealed in an interview with Radio Times.

Given that Oh II-nam (O Yeong-su) meets his demise in Season 1, we should expect the Front Man, aka Hwang In-Ho (Lee Byung-hun), to become the primary antagonist in Season 2 after being largely in shadows in the first season.

We have to admit that the odds of Gi-hun defeating the game’s creators are quite low, even with his new wealth. He has no other alternative but to get his hands dirty to bury the deadly competition for good.

However, there is one way through which Gi-hun can achieve his goal. Have you ever noticed that Season 1 does not tell us what really happened to the past winners? It is possible that the creators of ‘Squid Game’ must have silenced those winners somehow. But how did that happen? The game is not a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity for players as it takes place frequently. And despite all the deaths, it is still popular. Season 2 must deal with this scenario. Gi-hun should receive some help from the previous winners to sabotage the game permanently. Let’s see how Squid Game Season 2 turns out. It is expected to arrive on Netflix in late 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
