“Squid Game” breakout star Hoyeon Jung bags a role in Alfonso Cuaron’s upcoming Apple TV+ series “Disclaimer“. SAG Award winner will be featured alongside Sacha Baron Cohen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline in the upcoming thriller.
Based on the novel with identical titles by Renee Knight, “Disclaimer” will star Blanchett as Catherine Ravenscroft, a reputed and accomplished television documentary journalist whose work was to reveal the transgressions of the widely esteemed institutions to the general public.
When she comes across an interesting novel on her bedside table that was penned down by a widower (Kline), she was petrified as she realises that she was a pivotal character in a case that she had believed was long buried in the past. A story that unveils her darkest secret, a story that belonged only to herself.
Jung Ho-yeon will play Kim, a goal-oriented, persuasive and dedicated young girl who works for Catherine Ravenscroft (Cate) in the hopes of making a breakthrough in her career. Jung Ho-yeon made her acting debut with the massive hit Netflix series “Squid Game,” where she portrayed a North Korean defector Kang Sae-byeok.
She won a multiple awards for his show, including the SAG Award for best performance by a female actor in a drama series. Apart from acting, she was also featured as a model for many top brands and she was the runner up on “Korea’s Next Top Model.”
Recently she was announced as Louis Vuitton’s new global Maison Ambassador.Hoyeon is represented by CAA and Saram Entertainment.
Alfoson Cuaron, director of Gravity (2013) and Roma (2018), will serve as the writer, director and executive producer of “Disclaimer” making it the first time that he will write and direct every episode of a television show.
